Quantitative Breast Density in Contrast-Enhanced Mammography

چکیده
Contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) demonstrates a potential role in personalized screening models, particular for women at increased risk and with dense breasts. In this study, volumetric breast density (VBD) measured CEM images was compared VBD obtained from digital (DM) or tomosynthesis (DBT) images. A total of 150 who underwent between March 2019 December 2020, having least DM/DBT study performed before/after CEM, were included. Low-energy (LE-CEM) processed automatic software to obtain the VBD. VBDs paired datasets by Wilcoxon tests. multivariate regression model applied analyze relationship differences multiple independent variables certainly potentially affecting Median comparable LE-CEM (12.73% vs. 12.39%), not evidencing any statistically significant difference (p = 0.5855). DM associated glandular volume, thickness, compression force pressure, contact area, nipple-to-posterior-edge distance, i.e., reflecting positioning (coefficient determination 0.6023; correlation coefficient 0.7761). Volumetric low-energy contrast-enhanced spectral significantly different standard mammograms.

متن کاملComparison between Breast MRI and Contrast-Enhanced Spectral Mammography
BACKGROUND The main goal of this study was to compare contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with histopathological results and to compare the sensitivity, accuracy, and positive and negative predictive values for both imaging modalities. MATERIAL/METHODS After ethics approval, CESM and MRI examinations were performed in 102 patients who had ...
متن کاملDual-energy contrast-enhanced mammography.
The degree of vascularization in breast lesions is related to their malignancy. For this reason, functional diagnostic imaging techniques have become important in recent years. Dual-energy contrast-enhanced mammography is a new, apparently promising technique in breast cancer that provides information about the degree of vascularization of the lesion in addition to the morphological information...
متن کاملAn introduction to contrast enhanced spectral mammography
Contrast enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) is a new technology, gaining acceptance throughout Europe and the USA, but only recently introduced to the UK. GE Healthcare is currently the only UK vendor of CESM, using the brand name Senobright. In this article, we will explore the theory behind the technology and the practicalities of performing the test. A brief literature overview is provided...
متن کاملEstimating breast thickness for dual-energy subtraction in contrast-enhanced digital mammography using calibration phantoms
Dual-energy contrast-enhanced digital mammography (DE CE-DM) uses an iodinated contrast agent to image the perfusion and vasculature of the breast. DE images are obtained by a weighted logarithmic subtraction of the high-energy (HE) and low-energy (LE) image pairs. We hypothesized that the optimal DE subtraction weighting factor is thicknessdependent, and developed a method for determining brea...
